Frequently Asked QuestionsQ.Will installing a Re-Action® System void my trolling motor manufacturer's warranty? A. If you have a Re-Action® System installed on your trolling motor, for the remainder of the trolling motor manufacturer's original warranty period, the Re-Action® System warranty covers failures to the speed control components in the trolling motor. If, during your manufacturer's warranty period, you require a warranty repair on non-speed control related components and a trolling motor manufacturer's service center refuses your claim due to use of the Re-Action® System, call our warranty authorization department at 1-866-815-2888 for repair authorization. Modevation Enterprises Inc. will, at its sole discretion, authorize the necessary repairs and will direct you to service center that will perform the warranty repairs at our cost. Please read the warranty page for complete details. Q.What is the difference between the Re-Action® System and existing trolling motor operating modes like Momentary mode, Constant On mode and the Hi-Bypass / Rabbit Switch? A. The Re-Action® System offers a new trolling motor mode called Re-Action® Mode. Re-Action® Mode introduces Two Throttles and seven distinct advantages over existing trolling motors technologies. Currently anglers must choose between operating in Momentary mode (On/Off operation at a selected throttle speed) or Constant mode (continuous operation at a selected throttle speed). While momentary mode allows for precise boat positioning while fishing in confined areas like docks and boat houses or in calm conditions, high wind gusts and river currents repeatedly demand the anglers attention to maintain the boats position and heading. Esentially in these conditions, the angler is married to the foot pedal. Constant On mode will help the angler hold a boat in position longer and is excellent for slow crawling along a shoreline for casting or holding the boat on course when fishing in current. The problem with Constant On mode is that when wind gusts, current or boat wakes force the boat out of position, or the angler wishes to bump ahead to the next spot, he or she has to break focus and roll or slide the throttle up for more thrust and then back to where it was when the boat is back in the desired position or on course. Re-Action® Mode's Two Throttles allows the angler to set the Low Range Throttle (Main Throttle) for an idle to hold position, a slow shoreline crawl or a trolling speed to hold against current like Constant On mode, but when wind gusts, boat wakes or current try to force the boat out of position or off course, the angler simply presses the foot pedal tap switch (like Momentary mode) to instantly speed up to the High Range Throttle setting. Welcome to Two Throttles, no more distracting throttling up and down and the ability to let the trolling motor idle, slow crawl or troll without having a foot dedicated to the foot pedal means a whole lot less back and leg fatigue after a long day fishing. Like the Low Range Throttle (Main Throttle), the High Range Throttle is fully adjustable in 1/2 speed increments from 1/2 speed up to full throttle. The Hi-Bypass, Maximum, or Rabbit Switch is a feature that has been available on varying models of trolling motors for many years. When activated, this feature increases the trolling motor speed to the full throttle position (100%). This feature does not offer any other throttle setting but full throttle and is activated by a toggle switch or snap switch (press On / press Off). The intent of this feature was for hook rescue on fast water, quickly moving the boat to another position or for collision avoidance, but not for subtle and precise compensation for wind gusts or river currents. As most anglers know, it's hard to be subtle at full throttle as steering is erratic and also causes extreme stress on the mounting hardware. With today's 36 volt trolling motors offering higher thrust options (over 100 Lbs of thrust), full throttle is significantly different than full throttle at 50 Lbs of thrust. Anglers should use EXTREME CAUTION when activating the Hi-Bypass, Maximum or Rabbit Switch as the boat may suddenly list or lurch due to the high thrust of accelerating to the full throttle position. Sudden boat movements may result in the angler or passengers in the boat loosing their balance and being seriously injured or accidentally ejected from the boat. Prior to activating any trolling motor to the full throttle position, full Compensation Throttle position, Hi-Bypass, Maximum or Rabbit position, passengers or fellow anglers should be warned to brace for sudden boat movements. Q. Does the Re-Action® System docking station model work with remote hand-held controls? A. Yes. The Re-Action® System compliments the remote systems very nicely. Remote hand-held systems are very handy and allow the angler to move about the boat while still controlling the trolling motor. On windy days or in water current, hand-held remotes can be frustrating, as they are often slow to respond and require a lot of attention and the use of one hand. These are the days where the Re-Action® System docking station and hand-held remote should be used in tandem. We suggest that the angler fishing out of the bow of the boat uses the Re-Action® System docking station and foot pedal which allows for ultra fast response to wind or water currents. The angler at the back of the boat keeps the hand-held remote and when the angler in the bow is distracted by re-tying a lure or landing a fish, the angler with the remote temporarily takes over trolling motor control. When the angler in the front is ready, he/she takes over the control with the foot pedal again. The systems are able to work together to provide options for boat control in various conditions. Q. Will the Re-Action® System damage my foot pedal or trolling motor? A. No. Trolling motors are designed to handle repetitive throttle up and down adjustments. The Re-Action® System simply recalibrates your existing throttle setting electronically when you press your foot pedal tap switch, an effect that is no different than the angler manually adjusting the foot pedal main speed control up or down. It's just faster, a whole lot easier and less distracting. The Re-Action® System is far more gentle on your trolling motor and batteries than setting the main throttle to 40% or 50% and then pressing the foot pedal tap switch in momentary mode. The on/off operation of the trolling motor in momentary mode demands higher starting currents from the trolling motor and batteries than operating a lower speed in Re-Action® mode and activating the second throttle for more thrust when required. Q. How fast does the Re-Action® System respond? A. In the Re-Action® mode, once you activate (press down) your existing trolling motor foot pedal tap switch, your trolling motor speed instantly increases to the selected Re-Action® System set point. Now that's fast response. Once you release your foot pedal tap switch, the trolling motor will immediately reduce speed back to your main throttle setting. Q. Who is using the Re-Action® System? A. Currently some of the top bass, walleye, muskie and crappie pros, guides and anglers are using the Re-Action® System. Check out our Testimonials page to read what people are saying about fishing with the Re-Action® System. Once they tried the Re-Action® System, they were amazed at the improved level of boat control and benefits of the System. Q. If I buy the Re-Action® System, is there a money back guarantee? A. We are so confident that you will love the Re-Action® System, we offer a 30-day money back guarantee (docking station models only). We guarantee that if you are not fully satisfied with the Re-Action® System, we will refund your purchase price upon return of the product less all shipping costs. |
