Ken Cook - Bassmaster Elite Series Angler
Past Bassmaster Classic Champion

"This is right up there with my sonar as two of the most useful tools I have in my boat. I love being able to have my boat crawl along with both my feet on the deck like I used to with my hand held motor. Now, with the Two Throttles, when I need more power to bump ahead or get my boat back in shape in the wind, I just by press the foot pedal Tap Switch. I like it because I don’t have to think about it, it’s a reflex"

Bruce Samson – Super Pro PWT Angler, past Champion

I’ve seen plenty of gadgets come and go through the years but the Re-Action System is a keeper. I now love fishing on windy days and fast currents because boat control is easy and the fish are more predictable. The Re-Action System takes trolling motor control to a whole new level.

John Black – Tournament Angler, Louisville Kentucky

"No more spooking fish, and I can focus on fishing like never before, I love it and I won’t fish without it"

Joel Vasek, The Walleye Tamer Platte, SD

If you own a trolling motor, and you’re not set up with the Re-Action system, you are missing out on boat control that you never would’ve thought possible.

As I think back on the past two months I’ve had the Re-Action system on my Minn Kota Maximum, a couple days come to my mind. On 3-22-2007 air temps were 50-60 degrees and the water was 36. Ice had just come off the lake, and the walleye bite was great. We started catching fish as soon as we dropped our 1/2oz jigs down. It wasn’t 20 minutes later when a 25-30mph wind picked up out of the south on a 7 mile stretch of our river. The guys in the back of the boat thought our spot was done. I told them, “Just keep the jigs vertical.” That’s what we did as I held the boat at a depth of 38ft and we proceeded to catch 2-4lb walleye with waves coming over the bow of my boat. Without the Re-Action System this would never have been possible.

It’s made me an even better fisherman and is now the most important tool on the boat. Simply put, if you own a trolling motor, the Re-Action System is a must. It is great for all levels of anglers. It will make boat control 100% better than you’d ever imagine. Without a doubt, I won’t ever fish with out it again. For a guy who is on the water 250 days a year, it’s made my job a lot easier. What a great product. This is something that should come standard on every trolling motor built.

Ken Cook, Professional Bass Angler, Bassmaster Elite Series

My training as a Fisheries Biologist is based on the scientific method. I try to apply it to my fishing efforts as well. When I first heard of the Re-Action System for modification of trolling motor operation, I was curious and skeptical at the same time. I have always known that fish, especially bass, are skittish around the sounds of a trolling motor intruding into their environment. I have seen them and other fish as well, spook from the trolling motor being switched off and on during shallow water fishing situations. For this reason, I have always attempted to run my trolling motor on a slow, steady speed when fishing shallow cover where fish are especially skittish. For years I used a hand controlled motor to facilitate this mode of operation as much as possible.

I have found it more advantageous to switch to a foot controlled Motorguide trolling motor for the past several seasons. This was made possible partially because of the quiet operation of the Motorguide’s digital operation system. The downside to the foot operation is the natural tendency to start and stop the motor too often for best stealth during shallow water operation. I missed the opportunity to “creep” down the bank while fishing shallow water with the motor on a slow, steady speed without having to stand on the foot switch.

When I saw how the Re-Action System made this mode of operation possible, I was interested, to say the least. Still there was that “skepticism” that is always present about new and untried equipment. I’m always ready for improvements in my fishing equipment, I just don’t believe it until I try it myself.

After using the Re-Action System on my Motorguide TR109FB for three BASS Elite Series tournaments this spring, I can definitely say it has improved my fishing efficiency. It allows me to maintain my position on a fishing spot, or slowly travel along the edge of cover while NEVER completely stopping and starting my motor. The slow creep speed mode with the Re-Action System allows me to do this. I believe it causes less fish spooking motor noise to put the bass on high awareness. This makes them more susceptible to my lure’s attractiveness and therefore helps me put more bass in the boat.

It took me only a few minutes of operation to completely understand and incorporate the Re-action System operation into my fishing methods. My foot quickly became accustomed to using both the switches to maintain total control of my Triton Boat fishing platform. The speed options are limitless, making the Re-Action System beneficial in any fishing situation I have encountered.

The Re-Action System gives me the option of three trolling motor speeds instead of just two. I have “stop”, “go” and “anywhere in between”. This allows me to control my boat’s position while fishing in a much-improved manner. It matters not whether I am fishing quickly along a break-line offshore, or down a shallow, shoreline stump-row, the Re-Action System absolutely allows me maximum boat control for fishing efficiency.

I absolutely love the way the Re-Action System gives me the “slow steady creep” along shallow cover. It maximizes my opportunity to approach a fishing location without putting fish spooking bursts of trolling motor noise into the water. I know that big bass especially are less likely to bite if they know I am in their “house”.

The slow, steady trolling motor speed created by the Re-Action System, allows me to operate my MotorGuide without the annoying and fish-spooking bursts of bubbles and prop wash caused by starting the motor in shallow water. This alone, is very valuable in approaching and catching skittish fish. It helps me catch more, and bigger bass.

Pam Martin-Wells, 2007 Women's Bassmaster Champion, Bainbridge, GA:

Pam Martin-Wells"I've been fishing in professional bass tournaments for 20 years and the Re-Action® System is one of the most productive tools I now have. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical to begin with, however, within minutes of using the System, I began to realize the many advantages that I would now have; better boat control, freedom to concentrate on fishing rather than boat position, noise reduction...and the list goes on.

Before having the unit installed, I was pre-fishing for one of the women's Bassmaster tournaments and was recovering from food poisoning, so I wasn't feeling well and I laid down in the bottom of the boat for a few minutes. While there, my husband was running the trolling motor and every time he turned it on, there was a very loud noise. I got up and told thim that if the noise level under the water was even half of what I could hear in the boat, it was no wonder it was difficult to catch fish in shallow water. After having the Re-Action® System installed, there was no more blast of noise. This is a major advantage since a majority of our bass fishing is done in shallow water. Also, it allows me the freedom to concentrate more on bait placement and fishing rather than changing speeds or direction.

Another advantage that I have noticed is that when in shallow weeds or grass, as long as the System is on, even if on a slow crawl, when you start to go through the grass, the motor doesn't get as caught up in the grass and goes through even the thickest of grass much easier.

Also, I can now have my motor on a slow crawl while fishing down a bank or grass line and not have to fish on one foot. I can stand facing my fishing area and have both feet on the deck of the boat and if I need to, I can touch the tap switch to compensate for speed or direction.

With the advantages of the Re-Action® System, I don't know how we used to fish without it."

'Doc' Bruce Samson, Professional Walleye Angler

Doc SamsonBoat control is very important, as I make my living fishing tournaments. I carry 7 drift socks, 2 anchors, 2 electric trolling motors, 2 gas motors, 2 autopilot systems, and any tool that will help me stay on fish. I tested the Re-Action® System on my Minn Kota PowerDrive and it performed better than I expected.

When you first use a bow mount trolling motor, it is like learning how to drive a car. You have to think about each step to make the boat go where you want it. After a year or two, you don't have to think about which way to step on the pedal, how much to turn, etc. You just think where the boat is supposed to go and it is automatic. Just like driving a car!

But there always was one problem I never mastered; changing the power setting of the trolling motor and turn the motor at the same time. This situation occurs when wind speed increases or a wave hits the boat. Your trolling motor will turn the boat easier when it has more power. By the time I increased the power setting with my foot, I was out of position.

The Re-Action® System allows me to increase power by simply holding my tap switch down with my heel and turning with the ball of my foot at the same time. I choose how much more power I need by dialling the compensation throttle and after that, I simply hold down the tap switch when I need more power and let off the tap switch to drop back to the main throttle setting. Now I can keep my boat where I want without being distracted by having to constantly adjust my throttle."

Don Dakin - Bass Pro Crappie Masters, CAST and CrappieUSA, Lake Rathbun, IA

The Re-Action® System has totally changed boat control for the Dakin Fishing Team. Wind used to control how and where we fished, now with the Re-Action® System, WE are in control. To retrieve a snagged jig takes half the time as one tap of your foot and you are back to the snag immediately. No more bending over and adjusting speeds while riding rough waves. We can slowly work our way through standing timber and yet have immediate power to move from tree stump to stump. With just a tap, we can hover over our "honey hole" or brushpile. We'd give up our expensive depth finders anyday before we would let the Re-Action® System go back!

Pro-Guide Andrew Klassen of Lund Boats, Vexilar and Alliance Marine Pro-staff, Winnipeg, MB and Lake of the Woods, ON, Canada

When fishing points for muskies and pike, it’s key to be able to place your bait in those crucial back areas tight to structure at the origin of the point. Using the Re-Action® System, these types of structure can be fished much more efficiently as one can make very quick turns using the tap switch to follow any type of shoreline which allows me to place my boat at the proper location for casting, and then quickly turn the boat and move on without ever being at the mercy of the wind. Without this added boat control, casting these back areas while maintaining proper boat position is extremely difficult. With the Re-Action® System, I spend more time fishing and less time positioning my boat. Having my lure in the water longer puts more fish in my boat.

Bill Damron, Walleye Angler - Masters Walleye Circuit, IL

"My name is Bill Damron and I fish in the Masters Walleye Circuit. When I was introducted to the Re-Action® System, I was thrilled. The things I can do with this product are amazing, such as almost eliminating snags while slipping current in any river system. Also, to keep on path in windy conditions, you just hit the pedal (tap switch) and get back on course. I am a proud owner of the Re-Action® System and would recommend it to anyone and everyone."

Dennis and Petra Block, Bass Angling Team, IA

We want to let you know how pleased we are with the Re-Action® System - Total Boat Control. In our first tournament for the year as husband and wife, I finished 2nd and my wife finished 13th. The wind was out of the South gusting from 5 to 20 mph. We didn't have any success with plastics, jigs, crank baits or spinner baits, so we figured the fish were in a negative mood. The only way we could hold the boat in a neutral position to fish slow was to point the bow of the boat into the wind on a slow constant setting and readjust our boat position with a quick tap of the trolling motor tap switch using the Re-Action® System. If it wasn't for the Re-Action® System, we would still be looking for fish! Thanks again for a great product."

Cpt. Nate Provost, G3 Boats/Yamaha Pro-staff, Professional Walleye Fisherman

"In the short time that I have been fortunate enough to to use this product, I am amazed at the versatility it gives me for boat control with my Minn Kota Powerdrive bow mount. I feel that the Re-Action® System gives me ten times better boat control. With fishing being my career, anything that puts more fish in the boat during tournaments or charters is a huge asset to my success. I recommend this product to anyone whether you are a weekend angler or a tournament pro. I guarantee it will help put more fish in your boat."

Scott Witkop, Team G3 Boats - Walleye Pro-staff, MN:

The Re-Action® System is a tool I will not longer be without. I found the Re-Action® System indispensable in controlling my boat both in tight vertical presentations and in open water trolling, particularly in gusty winds and current situations. I have always struggled when I needed to increase or decrease speeds and/or steer my autopilot in the wind or current. The Re-Action® System makes it so much easier to do these tasks that it is well worth the investment to avoid these frustrations. The Re-Action® System has my full endorsement."

Lamarr Van Dame, Field Promotions/Pro Team Manager G3 Boats, Fargo, ND

"The Re-Action® System has greatly improved my boat control while using the Powerdrive footpad. It allows me to concentrate on my fishing, not having to be concerned with constantly readjusting the speed control. In wind and current conditions, it is as much of an advantage to trolling motors, as power steering is to an automobile. Thanks to the Re-Action® System, fishing is much easier and enjoyable for me."

Heath Wheeler and Jason Smallwood, Team WalleyeCentral, Wyoming

We have had the opportunity to put the Re-Action® System to the full test. We fish in various and different weather patterns, using various fishing techniques. We can't say enough for your product. We found ourselves using it in every possible situation we could. Being able to move the bow around quickly then retain your current setting is an amazing time saver. We watch people bend over the adjust their trolling motors and the possibilities seem endless for the Re-Action® System in this part of the country.

Bob Milanec, Champaign, IL

"As a fisherman of many years, I learned the benefits of the "constant on" feature of trolling motors to hold the boat in wind and current, but there has always been something missing.

Since being introduced to the Re-Action System at the Chicagoland Sport Show, that is no longer the case. As my team partner Butch Jones and I watched and listened, we became interested in the Re-Action System. Now that we have had the opportunity to try the product, Butch and I agree that it was the best move we have made.

As I said earlier, there has always been something missing. In the wind or current with the "constant on" feature engaged, once you found the "sweet spot" to keep your position stable, if you needed to move or react to wind/current, you have to roll the throttle switch up. Once you get back in position, you mess around to find that "sweet spot" on the throttle again. Not anymore!!!

With the Re-Action System, once you have that "sweet spot" speed set, should you need to move or react to wind/current, just hit the tap switch and go. When you let off the tap switch, you return back to that perfect speed to maintain your position. The beauty of this is the amount of extra power you need to move, can also be controlled up or down without affecting what is needed to hold you stable. Talk about boat control!! I used to get aggravated when the wind blew because of how hard it was to control the boat. The Re-Action System has eliminated that problem for me totally.

I have had the opportunity to run the Re-Action System Pro with the "G" switch. I was amazed at how much boat control I had with the Re-Action System alone, but the "G" switch is a perfect addition to the system.

Through out my many years of fishing, I have used both of the major manufacturer's trolling motors. I know that many fishermen (including myself) have needed and even asked for a feature like the Re-Action System. This product is absolutely fantastic and will change the way that fishermen work a body of water no matter what the conditions, because of the boat control that they now will have. My questions to these manufacturers are; Where are you on this feature??? Why has this not been achieved??? These companies have totally missed it on this one!!!."

Troy D. Otterson MSW, LGSW Psychotherapist/Professional Angler FLW Walleye Tour, Duluth, MN

"I love the Docking Station model I have been using. I hold the tap switch down with my heel and steer at the same time which gives me ultimate control for my 21 foot Ranger Fisherman with my 250 HP motor (A heavy glass boat). By steering with thrust on demand, the steering is more responsive than the cable steering model. I now only use this model, as I trashed my cable steer model altogether.

I love what the Re-Action System® does for my AutoPilot on the bow. I use the Re-Action® System as an electronic anchor on the Mississippi River Pools 3-12. By setting the main throttle to slowly slip back with the river current, I press the tap switch for additional thrust, the boat is easy to hold on a spot or to slowly slip forward or backward on the river, at my discretion! I don't know what I would do without it."

Pete Saele

"The re-action system is a must for any fishermen from the amateur to the seasoned professional of all species. It truly makes time on the water more efficient and enjoyable."

Dave Hagberg

"I've had an opportunity to experience your incredible Re-Action System recently and I am very impressed with it as it allows me more concentration on fishing rather than boat control. After 20 years of being bullied about by the wind and currents, I can now fight back. This remarkable product is long overdue!"
