Momentary behaviour

Set the Low Range Throttle to Idle the trolling motor at a very slow speed, not enough to move the boat but, Don’t Stop The Prop! This is great for holding on structure while jigging or casting. Now set the High Range Throttle for the amount of thrust you would need for the given wind, current or bump ahead speed you desire. Now you can run the trolling motor the same way you would in Momentary mode but without cavitation noise and without draining your trolling batteries. If you need to stop or go back to Momentary (On/Off) operation, just press the Re-Action® Mode Switch on the foot pedal and you’re there.

Slow Crawl Like A Hand Held

The quietest way to fish for walleye is a slow crawl along a shoreline, weed bed or structure similar to a hand held trolling motor. Set the Low Range Throttle to a slow crawl for bottom jigging along weed beds, structure or shoreline or for a desired casting speed. No need to stay on the foot pedal, get both feet on the deck for better balance. In Re-action® Mode, you can set the High range throttle to the desired amount of thrust required to bump ahead, fight wind gusts or river current and when you need more power, just press and hold the foot pedal Tap Switch for an instant increase in thrust. When you let off the Tap Switch, the trolling motor returns to the Low Range Throttle setting. Easy boat control means more focus on fishing and more fish in the boat. Less distraction means more action and that’s what you’re there for.

Trolling Like A Handheld

Handheld trolling motors are good for trolling and now, foot control motors are great for trolling and fighting wind gusts and river currents is as simple as pressing the foot pedal Tap Switch for more power. Set the Low Range Throttle for the desired trolling speed for crank baits or bottom bouncers. Now set the High Range Throttle for the desired amount of additional thrust required to fight the wind or river currents. When the wind or current try to force the boat out of position, just press the foot pedal Tap Switch for an instant increase in thrust to keep your in position, or on course. Two Throttles means that boat control is a reflex, even in windy and fast current conditions. Now you can run the trolling motor and you can focus on your line. You won’t miss the bite and your co-angler doesn’t have the advantage because your head is in the game no matter what the elements try to do to you.

Current/River Fishing

Whether jigging, bottom bouncing or crank baiting, fishing on rivers is easy when you set the Low Range Throttle for the slow slipping, holding or desired crawl ahead speed. Now to fight wind gusts or current grab on the bow of the boat, set the High Range Throttle for the amount of additional thrust required to compensate for the opposing forces. When the wind gust or current try to force the boat out of position, just press the foot pedal Tap Switch for an instant increase in Thrust. No more distracting throttling up and down, just hit the foot pedal Tap Switch and the boat gets right back on course, without distraction. Fishing behind bridge pilings or breakwaters is a breeze when you have the Low Range Throttle set to hold in the current and the High Range Throttle set for more thrust on demand. Now you will fish in places that would leave you frustrated with a standard trolling motor.

Auto Steering Systems

The Auto steer piloting system is probably one of the most under appreciated features offered with trolling motors. The frustration and down side to this feature is experienced when wind or river currents repeatedly force the boat out of position. The Auto steering system correctively steers to counter the boat’s heading change but the wind or river current overpowers the Auto steering feature. The angler is forced repeatedly throttle up and then down each time the boat starts going off course. Many anglers get frustrated and will seek more sheltered areas to fish. The Re-Action® System Two Throttle advantage means that when wind gusts or current begin to force the boat out of position, the angler simply presses the foot pedal Tap Switch to instantly ramp up to the High Range Throttle setting. The Auto steering system will guide the boat right back on course. Once the boat is back on course, the angler simply releases the foot pedal Tap Switch to return to the Low Range Throttle setting. No loss of focus, just tap the switch for power on demand, it’s that easy. With the Re-Action System® and your Auto steer piloting system working as a team, you can fish fast water and wind gusts without breaking a sweat.

Remote keypad controls

Remote keypad controls offer excellent benefits such as mobility within the boat while maintaining control. Wind gusts and river currents demand instant thrust control to maintain boat control and the remote keypad controls require the angler to tap up one, two, three, four and then back down again to compensate for wind gusts or river currents. This repeated throttle up and down is distracting and often not fast enough when fishing in wind gusts and in strong river currents. When you loose control of the boat, nobody’s fishing. If you have a trolling motor with the Re-Action System®, now you can have the best of both features. The key remote control for when you need to be away from the foot pedal and the Two Throttle advantages of the Re-Action System® for those wind gusts and currents that try to force your boat out of control. The Re-Action System® offers instant power on demand for those windy days and river currents so you never need to lose control of your boat, or your temper.

'I absolutely love the way the Re-Action System gives me the “slow steady creep” along shallow cover. It maximizes my opportunity to approach a fishing location without putting fish spooking bursts of trolling motor noise into the water. '
